Seh Tek Tong Cheah Kongsi

Seh Tek Tong Cheah Kongsi is a heritage icon in the enclave, which is located in the core zone of George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site,Penang. Cheah Kongsi was established in 1810, by descendants of Cheah clansmen from Sek Tong Village, district of Sam Tor, Hai Teng Quan, Cheang Chew Prefecture in the Province of Fukien, China. Cheah Kongsi clanhouse is a mixed of traditional Straits Chinese and European architectures which include additions of British lion heads and fascade of hokkien origins. Cheah Kongsi is traditionally a place for the Cheah clans to congregate annually during the Winter Solstice Festival and meetings for more than 150 years. It is the first clan house to set up an Interpretation Center not only in Penang but Malaysia. As one of the oldest clan house in Penang, you will indulge yourself in the vast heritage history and culture of Penang. Cheah Kongsi scenery during daytime and nighttime lightings make us suitable for a 24-hours events.

Open daily from 9.00am to 5.00pm with last admission at 4.30pm.

– Adult is defined as 13 years old and above; children is defined as 3 – 12 years old.
